My set-up is as follows
- 8" Dobsonian mounted Newtonian reflector
- CCD imager (SPC900NC)
- 25mm & 10mm Plossl
- 2x Barlow
The technique I am using is to capture video as the object drifts across the field of view.
This allows for quick generation of a lot of data (frames) that can be averaged to remove
atmospheric/jet stream effects (bad seeing). This is done using the free program 'Registax 4'.
Although dobsonian mounts are far from ideal for astrophotography,
it certainly can be done as I have demonstrated!
